About NetSSRIN

Network on Security Sector Reform in Nigeria” (NetSSRIN) is a consortium of 12 civil society organizations from across the six geo-political zones established by CLEEN Foundation with the support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

NetSSRIN is dedicated to monitoring and documenting urgent cases of human rights violations by the military and other security personnel and responses to allegations of abuse; defending and protecting human rights for all individuals with no discrimination based on ethnic, religion, origin, political opinion and gender. WHO WE ARE

Our Mission

We believe in citizen’s ability in defending their human rights and for this reason NetSSRIN is working on raising citizen’s awareness of human rights violations by military personnel and other security operatives in Nigeria and encourages citizens to contribute in defending their own rights and the rights of others.

What We Do

NetSSRIN has been established to:

  • To monitor the human rights situation and highlight human rights violations by the personnel of the armed forces and other security agencies.

To promote human rights values and increase awareness about human rights guaranteed in the constitution, universal declaration for human rights and international law.

  • To ensure that human rights are being respected and applied, especially during counter insurgency and violent extremism operations in Nigeria.

  • To coordinate with human rights organizations to unite efforts to help victim of rights abuse.

  • To work on delivering victims voice to Media, relevant authorities, local and international relevant organisations and fora.

  • To contribute to the development of Human rights law in Nigeria.
