On December 6th, 2019, a team of NetSSRIN visited the Super Camp at Nsulu Games Village in Isiala Ngwa LGA of Abia State in order to ascertain the success stories of Operation Atilogwu Dance of Peace and to officially brief the camp of the Activities NETRSSIN

The Group was received by Head of Army information, Media and operations Major Olayiwola who express the pleasure of meeting the team after hearing the activities of NetSSRIN, particularly, their engagement with the Military formations.

 Major Olayiwola, the Operation officer, brief NETSSRIN Members on Atilogwu Dance of peace. According to him, the operation is divided into two phases namely.

The CIMIC PHASE: This means the Civil-Military Coordination Phase, which involved free medical care, Distribution of educational materials to schools and cleaning/clearing of public drainages as well as the environment. According to Major Olayiwola, this phase would be implemented within a period of 1st – 31st November 2019.

OPERATION PHASE:  He explained that The main Atilogwu Dance of Peace will continue till 24th December 2019 and will be extended to January 2020 to enable the military provide security to the citizens during this festive period. The Exercise is to checkmate the activities of elements that might create tension and insecurity during this yuletide period.

The flag-off of the exercise ATILOGWU DANCE OF PEACE  was performed by the Deputy Governor of Abia State at the super campground in Nsulu camp in Isiala Ngwa South LGA of Abia State.

On the Atilogwu CIMIC Phase One, Major Olayiwola stress that the military visited 30 communities in Abia State where the community heads were meet and issues of security was addressed and also seek for their cooperation and there was also free medical outreach where communities was reached with medical facilities and drugs. There was also a distribution of books and writing materials to the schools covered by the communities reached. The military also was involved in the cleanup exercise, clearing of public drainages and repairs of some roads through direct labour as part of the Exercise in the CIMIC Phase of the Exercise.

On the Security and Arrest Made during the Operation, there were issues of raid of the hideout of kidnappers, arrest of drug peddlers, arrest of child traffickers, car theft, house burglars and recovered of stolen cars. According to the Major, the incidences were recorded and suspects were handed over to the Appropriate Government Agencies for prosecution.
